Tropa Macaca is a project run by André Abel and Joana da Conceição, a Lisbon based duo, working on the field of electronic contemporary composition.
The band started six years ago and has released music on fundamental underground labels such as: Qbico, Siltbreeze and more recently on Software, which is run by Daniel Lopatin’s (A.K.A. Oneohtrix Point Never).
Until now, the compositions presented by Tropa Macaca have always been long, cathartic and deeply poetic pieces, as if someone was looking for unfound places or trying to speak unknown languages.
In all of them you find a sort ritualistic experience, where secrets unfold and mysteries are forever shattered.
