“Around the 3rd or 4th year into the journey, while recovering from health complications, I’ve suddenly and unexpectedly began to notice the first traces of human existence in the captured audio. There had been hints of that already, but never before had they been this clear. The source could be some old magnetic tape sound recordings or some modern machinery (maybe to their time), but most of the sounds were clearly human, telling stories of lives not unlike our own.”

Invoking the claustrophobic menace of the American Lassie via George Romero, both “Untitled Pieces” were conceived upon the failure ofmundane mechanisms – a bent automobile axis, the waiving turntable, the energy starved radio. Under a stormy sky, it is the adequate music for the one seeking shelter.Lace Bows

“Ao 3º ou 4º ano da viagem, enquanto recuperava de alguns problemas de saúde, deparei-me subitamente e de forma inesperada com os primeiros vestígios de existência humana no áudio capturado. Já tinham existido alguns indícios anteriormente, mas nunca de forma assim tão clara. Quer viesse de gravações de som na velha fita magnética, quer de maquinaria mais moderna (para o seu tempo), os sons eram claramente humanos, a contar histórias não muito distantes daquelas que muitos de nós vivemos.”

Invocando parte da ameaça claustrofóbica da América da Lassie via George Romero, as duas peças sem título foram construídas a partirdo falhanço de máquinas mundanas – o eixo do carro corroído, o gira-discos ondulante, o rádio com fome de energia. Sob um céu carregado de tempestade, é música para acompanhar o refúgio na cave.
