Profan/Protekt
Just in time for Record Store Day 2016, Wolfgang Voigt released this electro-musical tribute to the crackle of the gods under his “Wassermann” monicker. 4 variations of concentrated groove power pressed on two slabs of tar.
A1 – the Original Mix, a techno pop monstrosity which dusts off stout 80s and 90s references and transcodes them into the now. A true sing-along.
A2 – the Neotrance Mix. The name says it all. German Schlagerqueen Helene Fischer and Klaus Schulze in a breathless acid duet.
On the b side, Wassermann whips out the distortion and saves the day alongside his old chaps Marc Bolan and Robert Palmer. “You’re gonna have to face it, you’re addicted to bass!”
For the grand finale, an ambient slacker is the way to go… cause it’s the Vinyl Countdown Mix.
