The Grateful Dead – Shakedown Street – LP (Blue)

“Shakedown Street” is the tenth studio album (fifteenth overall) by The Grateful Dead, originally released in 1978, on Arista Records.  It was the final album for Keith and Donna Jean Godchaux, who left the band a few months after its release. The record was produced by Lowell George (of Little Feat) and John Kahn.

Although “Shakedown Street” is one of Wasser Bassin’s crew all-time Grateful Dead favourites releases, when the album came out it was commercially unsuccessful and poorly received by the die-hard fans! Deadheads usually refer to this album, and even this era, as Disco Dead.
