Quirke – Whities 007 – 12″

Nic Tasker’s Whities imprint reaches “007” with this handsome trio of AFXian drama, Tri- Angle abstraction, and Acid-burnt techno. Don’t know much about Quirke (no relation to Pauline from Birds of Feather fame, we guess), but where he/she is going is very exciting indeed.

The opening track “Cylinders” is a midi-caressed vision of OPN landscapes in bright colour, while ‘”2 Cope” comes off like the rave-damaged brethren of IVVVO, Huerco S and Austin Cesear. Finally, we have “SA45 Circles” which couples AFX synth with a crushing 4/4 beat.
