Niagara – De Motu – K7

In fact a new album by Niagara. They consistently move forward while precisely mapping different phases. Those phases sometimes correspond to specific instruments being used, or specific techniques, even a core idea that inspires creation. Niagara‘s peculiar approach to dance music guarantees an outsider perspective, the group being free from any kind of pressure to deliver “expected” results. As per rule, each phase comes packed with a wealth of music to be shortlisted, selected, shuffled around and locked in a tracklist.

No different with “De Motu“, except this time it seemed rather impossible to pick a handful out of dozens of tracks sprawled across more minutes than a record could take. Besides, the whole felt like an organism, and so what was done was a sort of bio sculpture to discard only the most unnecessary cells.
