“Metamorphosis and Resonances“, by the contemporary music composer, Hugo Vasco Reis, is a book who contains eight works for solo instruments, which as a starting point it’s intuitive processes closely linked to gestures, timbres, layers, images and focus, which define the progression of tension and distension, the formal elements and the discourse of each work. The common idea to all compositions reflects a dialogue of complicity and conflict, pleasure and anguish, between the horizon and the abyss, between metamorphosis and resonance.
The recordings were performed by a notable fan of composers: Ana Castanhito (harp), Cândido Fernandes (piano), Filipe Quaresma (cello), Frederic Cardoso (bass clarinet), Lourenço Macedo Sampaio (viola), Monika Streitová (flute), Paulo Jorge Ferreira (accordion) and Pedro Rodrigues (guitar). Sound engineering by António Pinheiro da Silva, with assistance of João Penedo.
