Forma
In January 1966, Baden Powell & Vinícius de Moraes entered the studio, accompanied by producer Roberto Quartin (who was responsible for the Forma label), arranger Guerra Peixe and with a choir from the vocal group Quarteto em Cy.
Then comes “Os Afro-Sambas”, a work that would become an anthological classic of Brazilian music, also being the first work in which typical Candomblé instruments, atabaques, bongo, agogô and afoxé are mixed with other traditional music instruments such as flute, guitar , sax, drums and double bass. Guerra Peixe gave the album a rustic sound, as if it were recorded in a terreiro, becoming one of the work’s trademarks!
Masterpiece!
