Fabricated quasi-instrumentals, synthetic claps, build-ups with no release – songs are frequently stripped of their main points of identification in order to highlight the otherwise accessory backing track. These are not dancefloor motivated edits. They are reduced instead of extended. Robotic but soulful. Where manifested, crackle and hiss not concealed.
