Wasser Bassin proudly presents Christine Fowler‘s sophomore album “Polyphonies And Other Lost Tracks”, in the least obvious of all formats: K7!

The album compiles several comissioned sound installations and remixes that, for one reason or another, have never seen the light of day. In the artist’s own words: “The track that best defines the album is, probably, ‘The Equator’. Here, everything is divided, this recording is neither north or south, it’s no man’s land, a sort of purgatory where souls linger unresolved…. A digest compedium of unfinished things.”

All said and done.

Limited to 50 copies!

Polyphonies And Other Lost Tracks

Wasser Bassin proudly presents Christine Fowler‘s sophomore album, “Polyphonies And Other Lost Tracks”, in the least obvious of all formats: K7!

The album compiles several comissioned sound installations and remixes that, for one reason or another, have never seen the light of day. The ethereal first track ‘Madrigal’, based on the works of Carlo Gesualdo da Venosa, was composed for a still unfinished video installation, as for the dronish, ‘Das Liede Von Der Erde’, was played only once in an art gallery, due to technical difficulties; and the same story can be told about the Rhys Chatham like edit ‘Elegy For Evols’, that was refused by the band, claiming creative differences.

On the B-side of the tape we discover ‘The Equator’, an abstract and ominous synth piece, the hypnotic ‘Monogatari’ (sampled from the film “Trip To Tokyo”, by Yasujiro Ozu), and, finally, the nearly religious track ‘A Portuguese Polyphony’, deeply inspired by Manuel Cardoso’s XVI century polyphonic works. In the artist’s own words: “The track that best defines the album is, probably, ‘The Equator’. Here, everything is divided, this recording is neither north or south, it’s no man’s land, a sort of purgatory where souls linger unresolved…. A digest compedium of unfinished things.”
